MYKONOS WINDMILLS – A MUST SEE LANDMARK

Hey guys. I hope you are all well. So we visited the Windmills. They stand on a hill overlooking the island and part of the harbour. This is a very touristy area but I would say they are worth seeing. They also overlook the sea and the very famous Little Venice. They are truly an iconic symbol of the island. Most of them were built by the Venetians in the 16th century to mill wheat.

Of course the area is very windy. It was too windy to even take pics, so I took the outfit pics afterwards in Chora. There are several ways to get to the windmills. You could walk from Little Venice. We walked from Fabrika Bus station and its a 5 minute walk. There’s also a parking lot right next to the windmills or you could take a short walk from the town centre.

They are surrounded by little souvenir stalls and a few food stalls if you need a snack. The area does get crowded so its best you visit early in the morning or at sunset. The views were stunning at sunset. Thank you for reading and have a great week.
